Music Studio

Our work in progress!  In 2008 a group of residents and staff set about turning what was a games room into the beginnings of a fully fledged music studio. 

The room was prepared for soundproofing by erecting a wooden frame which was screwed onto all the internal walls, the frame was then filled and covered with layers of carpet and underlay, finally a layer of plasterboard screwed over the soundproofing allowed for a usable surface.  The plasterbaord surface was then skimmed and prepared for painting.

The team also constructed a semi-circular stage for one corner of the room and allowed a space for a media projector.

There is still much too be done and instruments will require funding but we are hopeful that when the project is completed we will have a space that is creative, therapeutic and of course fun!
