Parenting Course
‘It was great to know we weren’t alone going through certain situations; others had been there before and had really useful advice.’
In 1998, church members, Tal & Jo Fahy, had already embarked on one of the most difficult missions life throws at us: that of being a parent. They were searching for help and guidance when they came across 'Family Time' - a short parenting course based on the book by Mark and Lindsay Melluish.
'The course put family life into a new perspective for us,' says Tal. 'We’ve got 4 kids and although our church and family are very supportive, parenting can be quite a lonely business. Attending a course really helped us as we started out raising our family, and we just wanted to give other parents a chance to get together – it's not only for people who feel they’re struggling, but for anyone looking for advice and friendship.”
Tal and Jo now oversee the parenting team at Church of Christ the King where there are various courses available for different stages of life which are open to anyone; church members and parents who have never set foot in church, single parents, young and old parents alike.
The team present the material in a down to earth way, drawing on their own experiences and their desire to see families grow and develop on strong, loving foundations.
Courses run throughout the year at different times so if you wish to register your interest, please call 01273 747 687 or email the church office at office@cck.org.uk for more information.
"it's great to know others are dealing with the same issues, facing the same struggles and experiencing the same joys..."
